These are planning ranges from published trade sources, not Xcel Electrical prices or a guarantee that every job falls within a range. All amounts are in Australian dollars. Your written quote confirms the scope, equipment, labour, exclusions and GST before work starts.

A practical example
A four-desk office refresh
List the power and data points each desk actually needs, then identify printer, meeting-room and Wi-Fi positions. Use the individual point ranges to compare the quoted line items. Do not treat their sum as a complete fit-out price: circuit capacity, the communications cabinet, after-hours access and testing need their own scope.
An example scope for planning, not a completed Xcel job or a quotation.
What changes the cost?
Trading hours and shutdowns
Work may need staged isolation, early access or an after-hours visit. Agree the outage window and which equipment must remain powered.
Fit-out scope
A furniture plan alone does not define the electrical job. Equipment loads, socket locations, lighting controls and network positions determine the installation.
Before you arrange the work
Office fit-outs
Mark each workstation, meeting room and printer position on a layout. Include the communications cabinet and Wi-Fi access points so power and data are planned together.
Compare complete scopes
Ask each quote to identify supply, installation, testing, access equipment and restoration. The figures here describe individual jobs, not a square-metre fit-out rate.
Sources and how to use these figures
We checked the linked published prices on 21 October 2026. Where a source explicitly excludes GST, the figures here add 10%. Where GST is not stated, the table says so. Some references cover NSW generally or a specific Sydney suburb; their scope is identified below. Any rounding is explained with the source. These are sourced ranges, not a statistically measured market average or a maximum price for complex work.
- Solus Spark — Sydney electrician cost guide — Published Sydney ranges, including GST. Equipment exclusions are retained.
- New Spark Electrical — Sydney electrical job prices — Published excluding GST; amounts below are multiplied by 1.1. Installation scope varies by job.

Common questions
Can you price an entire fit-out from an hourly rate?
An hourly rate alone leaves the materials and total time unknown. A defined layout and equipment list make a project quote much more useful.
Does Xcel cover large industrial installations?
This service is focused on shops, cafés, offices and small business premises. Send the job details so the appropriate scope can be confirmed.
How should I compare office fit-out quotes?
Use one layout and equipment list for each quote. Compare circuit work, point quantities, data testing, shutdowns and handover separately, then compare the complete GST-inclusive totals.
