Planning your job in the Eastern Suburbs
The Eastern Suburbs includes apartment buildings, terraces, separate homes and commercial premises. A unit near Bondi, a Paddington renovation and a home upgrade in Pagewood need different access and supply checks. We plan from the property’s actual installation and the work you need.
Apartments and shared buildings
Confirm whether the work is inside a lot or involves common wiring, parking or meter rooms. Provide the building contact and access requirements before arranging new circuits, EV charging or shared lighting.
Renovations and existing finishes
Plan appliance circuits, lighting and outlets before walls and ceilings are closed. We assess accessible wiring and protection, and explain cable routes. Check address-specific controls before altering visible external fittings on a heritage property.
Outdoor fittings and business premises
Outdoor equipment must suit its actual exposure and mounting position. For a shop, café or office, include the equipment list, approval contact and operating hours so any interruption can be planned.

Your questions
Electrical questions in the Eastern Suburbs
Which Eastern Suburbs locations do you cover?
We cover the 42 suburbs listed here, from Watsons Bay, Vaucluse and the Bondi suburbs through Randwick, Coogee and Maroubra, including Mascot, Botany and La Perouse. Choose your suburb for the services and property advice relevant to your enquiry.
Can you arrange work in an apartment or strata building?
Yes. Identify the unit or common area, the equipment involved and the person approving the work. Building rules, meter-room entry and any proposed changes to common property should be checked before an installation is booked.
Can you plan electrical work during a renovation?
Yes. Share the layout, appliance details and lighting or outlet positions before finishes are completed. We assess existing wiring and capacity, explain the electrical scope and coordinate the stages with the renovation schedule.
How is the price worked out?
The scope, fittings, condition of the existing wiring and access all affect the price. Our cost guides give Sydney market ranges to help you budget; they are not a quote for your property. Xcel Electrical provides a free written quote explaining the agreed work and price before it starts. If testing reveals further work, we explain the options before proceeding.
What access should I arrange for the visit?
Keep the work area and switchboard accessible, tell us about parking or locked gates, and arrange entry to any rooms involved. Mention restricted ceiling or underfloor access when enquiring; you do not need to enter these spaces yourself.
Will the power need to be turned off?
Many electrical jobs require the affected circuit to be isolated while work is carried out. A switchboard job may interrupt power to the whole property. We explain the expected interruption when planning the work. Tell us about medical equipment, refrigeration, business operations or anything else that needs an uninterrupted supply so suitable arrangements can be made.
How do I arrange a visit or urgent electrical help?
Call to confirm availability and arrival time. For urgent faults, phone us with the address and what has happened. For planned work, send the details through the quote form. If there is fire, electric shock or immediate danger, call 000 first.
