Who we are
This policy explains how XCEL ELECTRICAL CORP PTY LTD (ABN 82 663 211 998), trading as Xcel Electrical, handles personal information. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Xcel Electrical.
Back to contents ↑What we collect
When you request a quote or contact us, we collect:
- your name, suburb, email address and phone number;
- your description of the work and the service you select;
- any photos you choose to attach (up to five).
Before uploaded photos are emailed to us, our website removes embedded location and camera details. Anything visible in the photograph remains, so please avoid including unrelated personal information. When you call, text or email us, we receive your phone number or email address and anything you tell us.
Back to contents ↑Website analytics and cookies
When you browse our website, Google Analytics records:
- the pages you visit and the links and buttons you use;
- your device and browser type;
- your approximate location, worked out from your IP address.
Google Analytics uses cookies to do this. It does not give us your name or contact details. We do not send your enquiry message, uploaded photos, email address or phone number to Google Analytics.
We also use browser session storage to remember your first page and how you reached the website, such as through a search engine or another website. This information, and the page you enquire from, may accompany your enquiry so we can understand where it came from.
Our hosting and email providers process technical information needed to deliver the website and enquiries, such as connection details and delivery status.
Back to contents ↑How we use it
We use your details to respond to your enquiry, including to:
- prepare a quote;
- arrange and carry out the work;
- issue compliance certificates;
- keep records of the work we have done.
We use the website analytics to see how people find and use the website, so we can improve it. We don’t sell your personal information or use it for unrelated marketing.
Back to contents ↑Who we share it with
We share information only as needed to run the business:
- Vercel hosts our website. The website’s enquiry form runs on servers in Sydney.
- Resend delivers the enquiry form to our inbox by email.
- Google provides Google Analytics and the interactive map, which loads only when you choose to open it. Selected public Google reviews are displayed through our website provider’s reviews feed. Opening the map, a Google review or a Google profile takes you to content handled under the Google Privacy Policy.
- Website support providers, including Brandlab Digital Marketing, help us maintain the website and troubleshoot enquiry delivery when needed.
- Professional advisers such as our accountant or insurer, when needed.
- Regulators, where the law requires it. For example, compliance certificates for electrical wiring work are lodged with the NSW Government.
Vercel, Resend and Google are based in the United States and may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States.
Back to contents ↑Security and retention
The website uses encrypted connections (HTTPS), the enquiry form checks and limits what is sent, and enquiries go only to our business inbox.
We keep enquiry emails for as long as we need them to respond, to keep records of our work and to meet our legal record-keeping obligations. We then delete them.
Back to contents ↑Your choices
- You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you by emailing info@xcelelectrical.com.au.
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
- You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on.
