Which camera system suits your property?
Security camera installation starts with what you need to see. We look at entrances, outdoor areas and other priority spaces before recommending camera positions and recording equipment, from a few cameras at home to multi-camera systems for businesses.
Installation includes mounting, cabling, network setup and remote viewing, and at handover we show you playback, alerts and everyday controls.

Your property
Planning the work in Denistone
Homes in Denistone include established houses and attached homes. A previous renovation does not establish the condition or capacity of the wiring.
Coverage and privacy
Visible cable on a period façade can be intrusive. We look for accessible roof or subfloor routes and agree any surface conduit before work starts.
Coverage, angles and privacy
Camera position, lens and night vision decide what each camera can capture. Consider neighbouring properties and public areas when choosing angles, and check current NSW requirements if you’re unsure.
Recording and remote access
Recording settings and storage decide how long footage is kept and how easily you can find an event. Remote viewing needs a reliable internet connection at the property.

Security camera questions
How much does security camera installation cost in Sydney?
A mid-range four-to-six-camera system has a published Sydney supply-and-install range of $1,800–$3,500, including GST. Camera specification, recording capacity, cable routes and mounting access determine the final scope. These are published planning ranges, not Xcel rates. We confirm a written quote for your property and agreed scope before work starts.
How many security cameras do I need for my property?
It depends on the property’s layout and what you want to see. Many homes start with cameras covering the front door, back door and driveway, then add others for side access, a garage or the backyard.
Larger homes, properties with more than one building and businesses usually need more. A small shop might cover the entrance, counter and stockroom.
We walk the property with you, check sight lines and lighting, and suggest a number and position for each camera, so you cover the areas that matter without paying for cameras you don’t need. If part of the property is dark at night, our lighting cost guide covers the choices that affect a lighting quote.
Can you install security cameras that I can monitor from my phone?
Yes. Most current systems support viewing on a phone, tablet or computer. Depending on the equipment, you can watch live footage, receive motion alerts, play back recorded events and use two-way audio where the camera supports it.
At handover we set up the app, connect it to the system and show you how to use it. We help you set strong passwords on the recorder and app accounts, and we recommend keeping the system’s software up to date to help protect it from unauthorised access.
How long does security camera installation take?
It depends on the number of cameras, the building’s construction and how cables need to be run. As a rough guide, a home installation with 2–4 cameras usually takes 4–6 hours, and a larger home or small business with 4–8 cameras generally takes a full day.
Larger commercial installations with more cameras and integration work may take 2–3 days. Roof or underfloor access, long cable runs and brick or concrete walls can add time. We confirm an expected timeframe after assessing the property.
Are your security camera installations weatherproof for Sydney conditions?
Outdoor cameras need to suit the position they are mounted in. We choose cameras with an ingress protection (IP) rating to match the exposure, typically IP66 or higher for fully exposed positions, which covers dust and strong water jets.
We seal connection points and run cables through protected paths to limit water entry and UV damage. Near the coast, ask about cameras and fittings with better corrosion resistance. We also consider direct sun, which can affect image quality. Equipment is covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.
What access should I arrange for the visit?
Keep the work area and switchboard accessible, tell us about parking or locked gates, and arrange entry to any rooms involved. Mention restricted ceiling or underfloor access when enquiring; you do not need to enter these spaces yourself.
