Replacing a fan or adding a new one?
Replacing a fan and adding one in a new position involve different work. We check the proposed location, ceiling support, wiring and controls so you know what the installation includes.
Tell us about the room and the fan you have in mind. For an outdoor area, the equipment needs to suit its intended environment.

Your property
Planning the work in North Kellyville
North Kellyville is largely newer family housing, with townhouses and apartments also present. New equipment still needs a supply assessment and a practical route from the board.
Mounting and control options
A light fitting is not necessarily a suitable fan support. We check the ceiling structure, clearances, existing cabling and wall or remote control options.
Room and ceiling
Room proportions, ceiling height, nearby fittings and the mounting structure affect positioning. Ceiling access and construction also influence the work.
Controls and existing wiring
Wall controls, remotes and integrated lights have different requirements. Share the model details so the installation can be planned around the correct controls.
Replacement or new installation
An existing electrical point does not establish that its mounting can support a fan. New positions may need additional wiring and ceiling access.
Who supplies the fan and controls?
Confirm whether you are supplying the fan or want it included, and send the model before booking. The quote should identify controls, mounting support, new wiring and removal of the old fitting, rather than assuming they are all included in a fitting-only price.

Ceiling fan questions
Can a ceiling fan replace an existing light?
Often, but it needs checking first. A light point already has wiring, but a fan moves and is heavier, so the ceiling mounting must be strong enough to carry it. We check the ceiling structure and add support where needed.
Switching also needs thought. A fan with a light may need separate wall controls, a remote or a control made for that model. Send the model details so the controls can be planned before installation day.
Can I choose my own fan?
Yes. Send the make, model and installation instructions before you book, so we can check that the mounting, controls and ceiling height suit the fan. Some fans need a particular wall control, and the instructions may set a minimum ceiling height.
If you’d like us to supply the fan, say so in your enquiry and the quote will show the equipment separately from the installation. Either way, the quote should confirm who supplies the fan and its controls.
Do outdoor fans need different equipment?
Yes. A fan for a covered alfresco, patio or verandah must be rated by the manufacturer for the exposure it will face, and its controls and connections need to suit that location too.
Tell us whether the space is enclosed, covered or exposed, and send the model details if you’ve chosen one. We check the rating, the mounting and the wiring route before confirming the installation, so the fan suits the space it’s going into.
How much does ceiling fan installation cost?
Published installation ranges are $198–$330 in Sydney, with a broader NSW supply-and-install range of $350–$650, including GST. Existing wiring, fan selection, mounting support and new controls affect the complete price. These are published planning ranges, not Xcel rates. We confirm a written quote for your property and agreed scope before work starts.
What access should I arrange for the visit?
Keep the work area and switchboard accessible, tell us about parking or locked gates, and arrange entry to any rooms involved. Mention restricted ceiling or underfloor access when enquiring; you do not need to enter these spaces yourself.
